On Saturday, federal officials announced that the President has moved to deploy the militia forces to the Illinois city, while simultaneously a federal judge prevented his government from deploying forces to Portland.
Administration Confirms Chicago Troop Dispatch
A spokesperson for the executive branch stated that Donald Trump had given the go-ahead for using the state of Illinois militia personnel, referencing what she called “ongoing violent riots and civil disorder” that municipal authorities have been unable to stop.
On the West Coast, federal judge the judicial officer concurred with the state’s assertion that Trump dispatching national guard troops to Portland would probably escalate rather than calm demonstrations.
“Today’s ruling confirms what residents of Oregon already know: fairness prevailed, and reality triumphed,” the state's chief executive stated subsequent to the court order was issued. “There is no insurrection in Portland. National security is not at risk. No blazes, no devices, no deaths due to public protests.”
